Volunteer Grants Officer  RNA245

 

This position for a Voluntary Grants Officer is with a local sporting organisation.  It would require a commitment of at least 3 hours per application. The volunteer would be reporting to General Board.It is anticipated the volunteer would take up this position in the new year  after the AGM, and must be able to give a commitment for a one-year-term.  Reimbursement of out of pocket expenses – phone, travel and consumables (after approval by the Board)

 

KEY OBJECTIVE

Seek grant opportunities to support the vision of the association 

 

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Seek grant opportunities to support the vision of the association

• Be aware of funding opportunities, eligibility guidelines and submission dates and report these to the Board

• Present funding proposals to the Board (via the General Board Member) in advance of funding program deadlines to ensure full support for any applications 

• Complete grant applications up to the value of $10 000

• Keep the Board informed of the status and progress of any lodged applications 

• Ensure acquittal documentation is completed and lodged with the funding body within required time frames

• Work with External Grant Writer when required providing all documentation

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Agree to undergo a criminal history check as per Netball Queensland’s affiliation requirements

• Agree to sign a confidentiality contract

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE 

1. Experience and/or proven ability to fill a role suitable for a not-for-profit, volunteer-based association, including a good understanding of the need for planning, administration needs and the ability to liaise with the Board and association members

2. High standard of oral communication, including good listening skills and the ability to speak in public

3. High standard of written communication, interpersonal and effective people management skills

4. Good project management skills

5. Proven understanding of and experience in the grant application process

6. Knowledge of good governance practices

7. The ability to separate personal and club interests and association matters, and act in the best interests of the association at all times whilst in the assigned role
