Volunteer Convener Role Meals4Mates  SCT197

 

This is a role for a very special volunteer to be involved in the setting up of a new PILOT program commencing in the Redlands community.  The aim of the program is to help reduce social isolation of the elderly, while observing their general health and wellbeing.  A committed volunteer is sought to coordinate the program - see also the position Volunteer Cooks For Lonely Older People SCT198.

 

ROLE

  • Environmental checks on site using a Venue Assessment Checklist.
  • Ensuring the clients (Diner) have read, understood, completed and signed both the Waiver and Meal Agreement forms.
  • Raise any concerns with regards to the client with your supervisor.
  • Organise a meeting between Diner and Cook to ensure compatibility.
  • Provide access to feedback for both Diners and Cooks.
  • Keep in touch with all parties and report to your supervisor.
  • Check-ups – a phone call or visit needs to provide feedback and to ensure all policies and procedures of the organisation are being adhered to.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The Convener will be a skilled facilitator, building and maintaining positive relationships between all parties; Service Providers, Volunteers and Clients.
