Resident Care Volunteers ARV184


 This local organization is looking for enthusiastic people with good communication skills and a sense of fun and humour to join their team assisting Aged Care Staff at a local Redlands Aged Care Facility.  They need people who can assist with daily activities both planned and unplanned for residents.  You can make a difference to these residents!   


Role Descriptions:

 A wide variety of activities happen every day.  People with different talents and skills can be part of this dynamic team.


Types of activities include:

  • Social outings and picnics
  • Wheelchair walks for residents
  • Escorting residents to their appointments
  • Feeding residents and/or assisting with morning and afternoon tea
  • Visiting/reading to residents.  Helping residents with correspondence as well as clothes repairs
  • Helping in the café or operating the confectionary trolley
  • Accompanying a client to visit another client who has a similar cultural background and first language that is not English. Some of our clients embrace origins from France, Spain, Latvia, Germany, China, Lebanon and Egypt. A volunteer from a similar background who would be able to converse with these clients, so that they didn't feel isolated
  • Maintenance and/or gardening 
  • Assisting Lifestyle team members
  • Reading to residents



Volunteers will recognize and respect the dignity, privacy, spiritual and cultural needs of residents and have a caring compassionate nature.

Current blue card (this application can be submitted by the facility).
